sir.
ва 33942/15
On the 22nd July 1915 we forwarded to
you a copy of a letter from the War Office reporting that the erection of the wireless station at Cap
D'Aguilar, Hong Kong by the Civil Government would
necessitate the substitution of cable for air-line
over a portion of the War Department telephone route near the site of the station, and that it was assumed that the cost would be met from Colonial
funds.
We have now received from the War Office
a claim for £5.178.4d on account of the excavation
of the trench for the cable and I have the honour
to enquire whether we should pay it.
The Under Secretary of State
Colonial Office.
I have the honour to be,
sir,
Your obedient Servant,
Brechus
for Crown Agents.
